Hi, I´m Basile Serre a 13 year old kiteboarder from France.

How did you first get into kitesurfing and what motivated you to pursue it professionally?

I started it at the age of 9 with my father. And I quickly became passionate. I am lucky to live next to a great spot, which allows me to train all year round.

How did you feel when you first heard that you just won the U14 division of the GKA Youth Big Air Kite World Championship?

I didn´t expect it, the other riders where also extremely good so I was happy to have won.

Did you try any new tricks or strategies specially for this event?

As the wind was not very strong and I had trained a lot in old school I was able to do a tornado.

Are there any upcoming competitions or events you´re excited about?

I´m very excited to participate in the next GKA Youth World Championship.

Do you have any memorable behind-the-scenes moment from SPO?

Yes, I met many riders my age with whom I kept in touch.

The big event village allowed us to discover many things and share great moments.

What advice would you give to other young riders looking up to improving their technique?

I think it´s very important to ride on different spots with different winds and conditions.

You also need to spend as much time as possible on the water and prepare well physically.
