Hi, my name is Marten Koblischke, I’m 16 years old and I from a small island in the north of Germany.

I started kitesurfing in 2020 and since then it has been my biggest passion. I get supported by F-One and Manera.

Was this your first time competing in a GKA Competition? How excited were you?

Yes, that was my first GKA event. I was super excited going into this event, because I finally got the opportunity to compete on an international stage in my favourite discipline Big Air.

Your home spot is Borkum- are the conditions in St. Peter the same as on Borkum?

The conditions on Borkum on the northern wavy side are definitely very similar to St. Peter

and helped me to prepare for this event.

Although I mostly ride in the lagoon at home, which offers great flatwater conditions in almost every wind direction and has definitely helped me improve a lot, since I started kiting.

What were you expectations on this event? Did you expect to become third place?

My goals for this competition were to focus on my own tricks and riding, rather than the end result. For me it was important to know, I can do the same tricks in training, as well as in competition, where you have to perform on the point.

What was your favorite trick you did at the GKA Youth Big Air Wolrd Championship?

My favourite trick from the World Championship was a move, where I do a front rotation, let go off my board, catch with the same hand behind my back again and add another rotation on the way down.

Not many riders are doing it in competition, because it’s risky to miss the board, when you have to grab it behind your back.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you outside of kitesurfing?

I lived a year on Iceland, when I was little, because my mother worked there as a vet.

What are your goals for the year 2026?

I’m incredibly motivated and excited to push my kiting to the next level in 2026. My goals is to improve in every discipline, compete in the big international events in big air, and enjoy the journey along the way.
