Hi, I´m Georgie Branton and I´m a 18 year old kiteboarder.

How did you get into kitesurfing? Whats your favorite part about it?

I started kiting in summer 2023 when I moved back to Cyprus, but the spark came earlier living near Tarifa. Once I tried it, I was hooked.

The freedom, the self-reliance, the constant progression are what I love most about kiting— and the mental side of pushing past challenges. Plus the amazing community. Travelling, meeting chill people, and sharing the same passion is the best.

How do you balance school, personal life and professional kiting?

It’s not perfectly balanced yet (lol), but I stay focused on whatever I’m doing. I work hard in school and train hard when travelling.

To reach better results after placing 4th, I want to prioritise kiting even more for full progression.

Do you have a pre-heat ritual?

A little boogie with my sister Annie and her AirPods before my heat — instant good vibes and confidence.

What was the toughest part for you in this competition?

For me the toughest part of the event was light wind and tricky tides. Hard to choose the right spot and tricks with sandbanks popping up and the kite not catching properly.

But strategy comes with experience.

What´s your advice for young (female) kiters who want to improve their technique?

Watch others, ask questions, understand the physics, and practice the same trick over and over until your style forms naturally.

And always get someone to film you — rewatching helps fix technique fast!
