My name is Victoria, I’m 14 years old, and I’m a competitive kitesurfer from the Dominican Republic. I currently don’t have any sponsors, but I’m working hard and growing in the sport every day.
When did you start kitesurfing? What inspired you to stick with it and to compete professionally?
I started kitesurfing when I was 9 years old. What really inspired me to continue and eventually compete professionally was the moment I won against all the boys in a competition — I was the youngest rider there and the only girl.
That experience showed me what I was capable of, and it motivated me to take the sport seriously and build a future in it.

What was your first impression of St. Peter-Ording and the conditions?
My first impression of St. Peter-Ording was really positive. The white sand surprised me because I didn’t expect it, and the place looks beautiful.
The wind is good — especially when it gets strong — and even though it’s a bit cold for me, the conditions are nice and fun to ride.
How is Big Air compared to other Kitesurfing disciplines? Which one is the hardest? Which one do you like the most?
In my opinion, Big Air is one of the hardest disciplines in kiteboarding. It’s not just technical — it’s also very mentally challenging.
But if we talk strictly about technical difficulty, I would say Freestyle is the hardest.
My favorite discipline is Big Air, especially when I compare it to Freestyle. And the most fun for me is Strapless, because I’m not really good at it yet — so it’s just the fun part of riding and playing around.

What is your favorite trick at the moment? Which trick are you training the most right now?
My favorite trick right now is Kiteloop Board-Offs.The trick I’m training the most at the moment is a Contra Loop Front Roll with an extra rotation.
What is your message to girls that want to start kitesurfing but may feel intimidated or unsure?
My message is that we shouldn’t let fear stop us. Kitesurfing is not only a sport — it’s a lifestyle.
It can be difficult when you start, but little by little you motivate yourself, you grow, and it becomes a true passion. If you love it, just go for it. You don’t need to be perfect — you just need to start.
